Turismo, identidad y espacio público en Puerto Vallarta, México. Apuntes sobre tres intervenciones recientes

Puerto Vallarta is a well‑known tourist destination in Mexico, characterized by its traditional village on the beach image. Recently there has been a decrease in the number of tourists and a repositioning strategy consisted of regenerate emblematic public spaces to offer them as renewed products. The paper discuss three significant interventions (Malecón, dock and footbridge) new spaces that transform the traditional concept of architectural identity and public experience, as park themes and scenography mounting modeling homogeneous landscapes to address the imaginaries and desires of contemporary tourists.
