A revolução militar portuguesa de 1974 e suas implicações no turismo nacional

Ao longo da sua curta história, vários acontecimentos se conjugaram, a nível social, político e conjuntural, que transformaram o turismo na atividade que é hoje em Portugal. Volvidos 41 anos sobre um acontecimento marcante na história deste país – a revolução militar de 1974 – que teve implicações decisivas em vários setores da sociedade portuguesa, parece-nos pertinente refletir sobre as suas implicações no setor do turismo. Este artigo assumirá uma estrutura baseada na cronologia do turismo em Portugal desde os finais do século XIX, aprofundará os acontecimentos durante o período revolucionário e apresentará alguns dados sobre o turismo no pós 25 de abril, com maior incidência no estado da arte atual do sector.

Abstract: Throughout its short history, several events came together, social, political and economic situation, which turned tourism in activity that is now in Portugal. Oped 41 years on a remarkable event in the history of this country - the military revolution of 1974 - which had decisive implications in various sectors of Portuguese society, it seems appropriate to reflect on its implications in the tourism sector. This article will take a structure based on the chronology of tourism in Portugal since the late nineteenth century, deepen the events during the
revolutionary period and present some data on tourism in the post April 25, focusing on the current state of the art sector.
