Identificação das variáveis-chave para a promoção do desenvolvimento local por meio da atividade turística no município de Corumbá/ MS/ Brasil: uma aplicação da Análise de SWOT

The objective of this paper is to discuss how tourism affects local development in the city of Corumbá/ MS/ Brazil. To this end, it was conducted a survey of bibliographic and descriptive exploratory qualitative survey through structured questionnaires mixed to 11 managers from the local tourist trade with a view to identifying relevant variables, subsequently classified according to the methodology of SWOT analysis with notes and weightings. The variables of tourism in the municipality identified as most relevant to local development were precariousness of public policy, income concentration, high participation of local labor, social exclusion, low educational level, economic poverty of the local population.
